Serve in Worship Arts
Join our team of volunteers serving with various backgrounds and skills each week.
On October 22, we will welcome Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) campus pastors Chris Horne and Andrew Shank to preach during both worship services.
Chris Horne is a native of Byron, GA and current Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) campus minister at Appalachian State University. After graduating from Georgia Southern University, Chris worked with RUF at the Savannah College of Art & Design where he met Sara Jane who studied Textile Design. The Hornes have three daughters: Georgia (6), Bonnie (5) and Rosemary (2). They love hanging out with App State students and exploring the WNC mountains. Chris plays drums and has an unhealthy interest in Auburn football. Sara Jane is passionate about art, aesthetics and chicken n dumplings.
Andrew grew up in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, but ever since his family moved to Charlotte, NC right after his 13th birthday, he’s called North Carolina “home.” Andrew is a graduate of NC State, and after his college days, interned with RUF at Virginia Tech before returning to Charlotte to attend Reformed Theological Seminary. It was during these RTS days that he met, wooed, and wed his wife, Trish. After finishing seminary, Andrew spent three years as the Pastor of Discipleship at Hilton Head Presbyterian Church before moving to WCU in the summer of 2017.
Andrew and Trish have one daughter, Sophie (1/7/15), with daughter number two on the way (due 1/4/18) and together they enjoy the outdoors, board games, reading, music, making pizza together, and going on adventures.
