Special Communion Sunday

CENTRAL TEXT: Luke 22:14-20
And when the hour came, he reclined at table, and the apostles with him. 15 And he said to them, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. 16 For I tell you I will not eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.” 17 And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he said, “Take this, and divide it among yourselves. 18 For I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.” 19 And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” 20 And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.

PRAYER OF COMMUNION:
LEADER: Father in heaven, Your Son has prepared his table for all who love him and trust in him alone for their salvation. All who are truly sorry for their sins, who sincerely believe in the Lord Jesus as their Savior, who desire to live in obedience to him as Lord, and who are covenantally committed to his church are now invited to come with gladness to the table of the Lord.
ALL: We come boldly before you not because we ought, but because we may by your grace; not because we are righteous, but because we are loved by you; not because we are strong, but because we are weak; not because we are full, but because we are hungry and thirsty for more of Christ. We come to feast on Christ and enjoy the benefits of his covenant of grace. May we taste and see that the Lord is good. Amen.
