Discipleship

Grace Discipleship focuses on personal spiritual renewal, biblical and theological foundations and practical instruction to experience what it means to live a life of renewal and spiritual vitality. Our desire is for everyone to grow deeper in their gospel understanding.

Join Andrew Kerhoulas, Associate Pastor, over on our new GMR Discipleship group on Facebook. We simply want to provide a space for online interaction about following Jesus together as a church.

Prodigal God

A six-week class that focuses on Jesus' parable of the prodigal son using Tim Keller's book, The Prodigal God, will begin on September 25. Keller uncovers the essential message of Jesus, locked inside that most familiar parable. This book will challenge you to see Christianity in a whole new way. This class is the first stage of Grace's new officer training; however, this class is open to all who are attending Grace.

Grace changes everything. And marriages that reflect the grace of Jesus do not happen by accident. They are intentionally cultivated, protected, and cherished. When we invest time, energy, and creativity into our marriage, our relationship moves from routine to life-giving.

Grace Marriage is a 6-week program for married couples, offered in a group setting. In this group, we will learn how to grow in connection, grace, and gratitude in our marriage relationships. There will be opportunities for each couple to talk privately with each other, as well as time to share our thoughts with others. We hope you will consider joining us!

Here are the details:

  • Grace Marriage is designed as a series of two sets of 6 sessions each.
  • All sessions will be held on Thursday evenings from 6:30 – 8:30 in the Grace Education Building.
  • The first set of sessions (The Foundation) begins Thursday, September 19 (6:30 – 8:30 PM) and continues weekly for a total of 6 weeks, ending October 24.
  • The second set of 6 sessions (The Investment Mentality) is scheduled for January 16 - February 20, 2025.
  • The sessions will be led by Rick and Barbara Hebert. We are looking forward to growing in our own marriage relationship as we intentionally invest this time together!

Each couple will need to order their own set of books for the course – The Couples Bundle book order includes 4 books – 2 copies per couple for BOTH the Sept/Oct and Jan/Feb sets of sessions. Cost of the bundle is $129.99 + shipping. Please allow 5-10 business days for Media Mail shipping (6.25) or 3-5 business days for Priority mail ($12.39). Books can be purchased through the Grace Marriage website by visiting the link below.

A Praying Church

For the better part of a year we focused on practicing the presence of God in prayer. God has given us all we need in the gospel to enjoy a prayerful life, and yet we need regular encouragement about the privilege and power of prayer. Because we will not drift into becoming more prayerful people we have partnered with our friends at the See Jesus ministry for a weekend seminar. They write “Together, we’ll survey praying communities through the ages and into today and discover what—or who—makes them work. We’ll use tools like the prayer menu and the prayer pyramid to explore the how to's of praying together, building our practical skills as we build our understanding. The goal of A Praying Church seminar is nothing less than to awaken the sleeping giant, the church, in our midst!” We are so eager to see what God will do in our midst through this seminar. Join us!

  • When: Nov 8, 6pm-8pm & Nov 9, 9am-12pm
